Tracy Hunter-Heartt
Tracy is a NeuroPhysical Therapist, and is the Founder, Owner and Operator of Here to Health Wellness Clinic Inc.
Tracy is also a certified Death Doula (she would rather be called a Living and Leaving Specialist) and she is passionate about advocating for those that receive life limiting diagnosis’ and ensuring that they have access to Palliative Care and End of Life planning. Tracy has a particular passion for Special Olympics (previously volunteering in BC for 30 years) and is currently on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Alberta.
Tracy has a passion for sport and has served on many Provincial, National and World Games teams and has had the opportunity to work with many sports teams and athletes in her 35 year career. Tracy enjoys yoga, reading and is an avid curler in the winter and enjoys camping and the outdoors with her husband Mark, and their two dogs, Kevin and Mack in the summer months.
Monica Dunn
Monica Dunn is a proud, lifelong resident of the Peace Country area, a place she briefly left only for post-secondary education and a short secondment in Slave Lake. Her strong connection to the community has always drawn her back.
Professionally, Monica had a diverse and successful career. Initially a Registered Dental Assistant, she transitioned into finance and management, retiring recently after 23 years as a dedicated controller for a mid-size business venture.
In retirement , Monica embraces an active lifestyle. She is an avid volunteer and enjoys friendly competition on the golf course and in the curling rink She also finds great satisfaction playing piano and working in her yard.
Above all , Monica’s greatest joy comes from her family: her supportive husband, her daughters and their spouses, and her four beloved grandchildren.
Carolyn Gammel
I am a retired Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner with a career that spanned 35 years. Through out my career I have had a passion for palliative care believing that everyone should have access to services and that no one should die alone. I was involved in the Fort St. John Palliative Care Society where I served as their first volunteer coordinator. Currently, in addition to being a Board Member, I am a friendly visitor volunteer at Hospice and orientate new volunteers to this role. I enjoy all sorts of crafts, walking my dog Luna, camping, hiking, biking, traveling and spending time with my children and grandchildren.
Trinity Sapergia
As a Chartered Professional Accountant, I bring a strong foundation in financial stewardship and strategic oversight to my role as Treasurer for Alberta Northwest Palliative Care Society. Not only am I committed to the financial aspects of ABNW Palliative Care Society, but I also want to help provide compassion and support to individuals and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. My goal is to help create a stable, well‑governed foundation that allows palliative care services in our region to thrive and deliver the highest quality of care for everyone involved. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, friends and those closest to me, and I can’t forget about my precious dog, Beau. I live for the summer, sunshine, and travelling and seeing the world when I can
Robert Belanger
I am a Board Member of the Northwest Palliative Care Society, serving since May 2022. I am also a member of our governance committee. As a practising lawyer based in Grande Prairie, I bring robust legal expertise and practical insight to support sound decision-making and responsible stewardship. I am committed to advancing the Society’s mission and strengthening its impact for individuals and families in our community. When I am not at working or tending to society members, I enjoy playing basketball, running, travelling with my wife, and taking care of my 2 cats and dog.
Stephanie Plante
Stephanie has made Grande Prairie her home for 17 years. She is a Certified Human Resource Professional, and is currently the HR Business Partner for an oil and gas company. While her work takes her many places around North America, she most enjoys spending time in her community. She is an avid runner and self admitted shopaholic. Stephanie has been a member of our Society’s board for two years.
Charlene Loxam
Charlene Loxam officially joined the ABNW Palliative Care Society Board on October 30, 2025.
Charlene brings 12+ years of legal experience. She’s worked as a Legal Assistant, Judicial Clerk, and Legislative Services Clerk. Charlene has also worked in the mining industry as an Access Control Officer and Surface Mine Rescuer. She loved learning how to operate a fire truck, ambulance, and haul truck. Next, she hopes to obtain her motorcycle licence!
Outside of the office, Charlene enjoys camping, kayaking, volunteering, and sharing time with her family and friends.

Tracy Zuk
Tracy Zuk is the Executive Director of the Alberta Northwest Palliative Care Society, bringing more than a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, community development, and philanthropy across northwest Alberta. Throughout her career, Tracy has led fundraising initiatives, strengthened community partnerships, and supported the delivery of impactful programs that respond to local needs.
Tracy’s commitment to compassionate care is deeply personal. She cared for a loved one at home during their palliative journey, gaining a profound understanding of the impact of compassionate end-of-life care and continues to support her father, who is living with dementia. These experiences have shaped her understanding of the importance of accessible, person-centred care and meaningful support for families navigating life limiting illness.
A third generation farm kid with deep roots in the Peace Country, Tracy is passionate about strengthening community connections and advocating for high quality palliative care throughout the region.
Outside of work, Tracy is a proud mom to one son and a devoted puppy parent. She and her family spend summers at their lake lot and winters on the ski hill, where her son competes as an Alpine ski racer. Tracy values time outdoors and believes strongly in balancing meaningful work with family, community, and time spent in nature.
In addition to her professional work, Tracy has volunteered with numerous community organizations and is a dedicated Rotarian, reflecting her long-standing commitment to service and community leadership.
Katie Grillon
Katie Grillon, RSW brings extensive social work experience to her role as Director of Programs at the Alberta Northwest Palliative Care Society. She has led social impact initiatives locally and internationally, including founding a Canadian charity in Uganda focused on sustainable improvements for underserved populations. In her current role, Katie supports volunteers and programs in her community, applying her passion for empowering individuals and communities to enhance palliative care and improve quality of life. Outside of work, Katie loves exploring the world, seeking out new adventures, and making the most of moments with her husband and young children.
Rachel Boutilier
Rachel Boutilier is a versatile leader with over 20 years of experience managing teams and operations across retail, entrepreneurship, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. She is currently Director of Marketing and Community Engagement, leading initiatives that strengthen community connections and deliver impactful programs.
Rachel’s extensive managerial background includes leading teams in retail, running her own business, and holding executive and operations leadership roles across multiple sectors. She has developed expertise in social media, marketing, operations, and client engagement, combining these skills with certified life coaching experience to support mental health, personal development, and community initiatives.
Outside of her professional life, Rachel is a wife of 19 years and a proud mom of three children. She is a passionate gamer, movie enthusiast, and lover of all things music, with a particular fondness for live acoustic performances. Her career and personal interests reflect a unique blend of leadership, creativity, and a deep appreciation for community, family, and the arts.
Lynette Vetsch
Lynette enjoys meeting and supporting people. She is a networker and connector and loves to give back to the community. She has come to ABNWPCS with over 30 years of experience in the Social Services sector serving and supporting in all sorts of roles from Office Management to Family Support Worker. She enjoys being able to create a safe and calm environment for people to explore their ideas and express their feelings out loud. In her spare time, Lynette loves to listen to music, connect with nature, create and learn new things.
