At the Alberta Northwest Palliative Care Society, we understand that grief affects every part of life—emotional, physical, social, and spiritual. There is no “right” way to grieve, and our goal is to provide support, understanding, and resources to help individuals and families navigate this journey.
We offer Quiet Reflections, a cozy space in our office with comfortable seating, books, and a cup of tea or coffee. It’s a place to read, journal, have a conversation, or simply sit in stillness—alone or with someone who understands.
Grief support is provided by Marianne Hartman, trained in the Companioning Model of Grief, a heart-centered approach that emphasizes listening, presence, and understanding. Marianne helps individuals explore their feelings and find guidance through the grieving process.
We can also connect members with additional resources, including counseling, support groups, or specialized programs, tailored to individual needs. At ABNW Palliative Care Society, we aim to provide a safe, welcoming space where everyone can feel seen, heard, and supported.
